The Green Keeper Cafe

After our workout we went in search of brunch, to undo all our hard work. Or as I prefer to think of it, I worked out so that I could go eat yummy food.

Get Fit for Summer!

This weekend I felt like I got so many things done, took my car to get a WOF and thank god it passed - so that's another 6 months up my sleeve! I went out and voted for our general election in NZ - cue the obligatory post voting selfie

I got my hair coloured - very important when you have regrowth and multiple colours coming through - and I went to the gym, 3 times in 2 days! That is some kind of record for me! The reason for that being that I trialed a morning workout at one of Auckland's most popular gyms - Les Mills.

Shaky Isles

I met up with a friend for brunch in Kingsland and we decided to go to Shaky Isles. Ive been here a couple of times (the first being delicious, and the second not so much) so I was keen to give it another shot.

Coconut Oil

Ive heard SO many good things about coconut oil and the benefits of using it on your skin, hair and in your cooking, but it wasn't until last week that I actually decided to buy some and give it a try.

I bought the "Now Foods, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil" from iHerb which you can find here. I decided to go with this product as it is 100% pure, Cold-Pressed and Unrefined, and Certified Organic.

Baguette & Co.

Ive heard good things about Baguette and Co. from a few of my workmates, one of whom had their lunch there today, so my cravings for french bread kicked in (does it ever really leave?!) and I decided to give it ago.

Orewa

After gorging ourselves on delicious market foods we headed to Orewa beach to walk it off and let the dogs have a run around. It was such a stunning, clear day, we could see for miles.

Follow Me

I've had a few questions about how you can follow my blog for updates on new posts, so I thought I'd pop it in a post for anyone else who might like to know. Its super easy!

If you want to follow via email:
  • Look to the right at the top of my blog and you will see "Follow Me via Email"
  • Type in your email address and select submit
  • A box will pop up asking you to confirm you aren't a robot, then you will receive an email in your inbox confirming that you are wanting to subscribe. Just click on the link in the email and BOOM you are a new follower :)
Follow me on Bloglovin
If you have a blog already:
  • Copy my URL link at the top of your browser
  • Go to your blogger homepage and you will see the title "Reading List" on the left hand side. Underneath that is an "Add" button
  • Select add and a box will pop up where you can paste my URL link and select "Follow" - too easy!
Instagram and Twitter:
  • At the top right of my blog there is also a "Stay in Touch" section. Here I have Instagram and Twitter icons which you can click on and they will take you through to my corresponding pages
Of course there are also icons at the bottom of each post where you can leave a comment or share the post to facebook, twitter etc :)

Happy following!

Catalina

Saturday brought with it slightly overcast skies, and a friendly Parents vs Kids game of soccer for my little brothers end of season match.

I was originally going just as a supporter and to laugh at my parents, clad in zebra stripped gumboots due to the yucky rainy weather we had been having. However, it looked so much fun and my brothers begged me to play "at least one minute" so at half time I swapped into my trainers and jumped in.

It was so fun! We kicked butt of course. Made me want to sign up for a social soccer team next season! Although apparently "I run like a girl"......

Afterwards we went to my new favourite cafe in Hobsonville called Catalina.

A Wee Bit of Culture

So the weekend just past was pretty dreary and miserable. A stark contrast to the previous stunner! Weekends like that tend to put me in a pretty melancholy mood, and the darkness outside always seems to make it feel like it is later than what it actually is.

Nevertheless I met up with a mate for brunch on Saturday in Ponsonby. We had intended on checking out The Unbakery (also known as Little Bird Organic) however there was a 25min wait for a table for two, for BRUNCH! Which is slightly ridiculous, and also becoming one of those really annoying fashionable rituals. So we trotted off down Jervois Road to another little cafe which wasn't quite as fashionable but delicious none the less and provided a table instantly. Very important, as those of you who know me well know I can get a little grumpy when hungry.....oops.

After meandering around Ponsonby Road looking at some of the quirkier shops I decided to pay a visit to the Auckland Art Gallery
